Dragon Trail Brings Chinese Travel Trade to Colombia

Dragon Trail supported the Chinese travel trade to strengthen their expertise and industry connections in Latin America, through participation in the Pacific Alliance’s VIII Tourism Matchmaking Forum and a FAM trip in Colombia, plus online destination training.

In April 2026, Dragon Trail supported the Chinese travel trade to strengthen their expertise and industry connections in Latin America, through participation in the Pacific Alliance’s VIII Tourism Matchmaking Forum and an eight-day FAM trip in Colombia, in addition to online destination training on Chile, Mexico, and Peru.

The Pacific Alliance brings together the tourism boards of Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and Peru, to promote sustainable travel in Latin America. The Alliance’s annual Tourism Matchmaking Forum is a two-day B2B matchmaking event designed to introduce the global travel industry to experiences in cultural, gastronomic, nature, adventure, wellness, and beach tourism in sustainable destinations. In 2026, the forum was held from 23-24 April in Armenia, Colombia.

Following the Pacific Alliance Tourism Matchmaking Forum, 10 Chinese travel agents explored Colombia on an eight-day FAM trip

Working with ProColombia – Colombia’s national tourism board – Dragon Trail International secured the participation of 10 Chinese travel agency buyers and organized their travel to Colombia in April 2026. The buyers came from Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, representing major travel agencies including Liurenyou, GZL Travel, Trip.com Group, and CTG Travel. Our team supported the buyers to schedule their one-to-one meetings at the Matchmaking Forum, facilitating a total of 206 meetings with 46 suppliers, and US$3.764 million in potential sales opportunities.

Following the Matchmaking Forum, Dragon Trail organized the participation of the 10 travel agents in an eight-day FAM trip around Colombia, visiting Bogota, Medellín, and Colombia’s Coffee Region. The travel agents toured cultural and historical attractions, experienced the entire coffee production process at a local coffee farm, and sampled Colombian chocolate at a cacao plantation.

Dragon Trail also organized and hosted an online destination training session to introduce the travel agents to the Pacific Alliance’s other member countries before the Matchmaking Forum, with speakers from Chilean National Tourism Service (Sernatur), PromPeru, and the Mexican Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR).

Dragon Trail is honored to help support the development of sustainable Chinese outbound tourism throughout Latin America, and to connect Chinese buyers with local suppliers from Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and Peru.
