Tourism professionals can now enjoy a new way to understand the Chinese outbound tourism market with the help of original videos offered every two weeks.
Dragon Trail Interactive and COTRI (China Outbound Tourism Research Institute) have partnered to produce the China Outbound Travel Pulse video series, aimed at exploring different aspects of Chinese outbound tourism in an informative, yet light-hearted way. The first China Outbound Travel Pulse video, focusing on Chinese FIT (free independent travel), was launched at the Dragon Trail and COTRI panel on the rise of Chinese independent travelers, at World Travel Market in London on 8 November, 2017.
The Chinese outbound tourism market continues to change very fast, and often in unpredictable ways. China Outbound Travel Pulse aim to help viewers to expand and update their knowledge, with original and engaging first-hand information and candid insights into current trends. The videos measure the pulse of the Chinese outbound travel market through interviews with real Chinese travelers, research results for trending travel topics, and expert analysis to help to understand what it all means for the global travel and tourism industries.
Based on fresh, relevant topics, the videos not only offer informative, entertaining updates on the Chinese outbound tourism market, but also convey real insights into consumer habits, decision-making processes and travel preferences, to inform the strategies and marketing campaigns of businesses and organizations that seek to understand and target the Chinese tourism market.
Roy Graff, Dragon Trail’s CMO and Managing Director Europe, Africa and the Middle East said: “Our China-based teams are doing the interviews in several Chinese cities and airports, to get a real feel of how travelers think about outbound travel and share this with the global industry in near-real time”
The videos are 3-5 minutes long, future topics will cover silver travelers, the relevance of shopping and exchange rates, adventure travel and niche destinations. They will be released every two weeks on YouTube, on the China Outbound Travel Pulse website www.dragontrail.com/pulse.
“The interviews of Chinese travelers show the different faces of China’s outbound tourism quite literally and illustrate the diversity of the market”, said Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt, director of COTRI. “COTRI adds some focused analysis and data to provide the background based on its global research activities.”
