China’s official 2027 public holiday calendar was released on 5 November. As in 2026, the public holiday for Chinese New Year will nine consecutive days, up from eight days in 2025 and seven days before then. The other public holidays will also be the same length as in 2026, with a total of 13 days off.

Other important things to know:
Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival both fall on Wednesdays in 2027, resulting in single mid-week public holidays. On one hand, this arrangement does not lend itself easily to travel, but some workers could choose to take annual leave before or after the holiday to create multiple options for long weekends.
Since Mid-Autumn Festival falls more than two weeks before the National Day holiday, we are unlikely to see a “Super Golden Week” scenario in which the travelers link the two holidays for extended trips.
