The hospitality chain works to promote tourism to Sri Lanka with various events, and this is the second annual Future of Tourism Summit.

Featuring innovators in the travel and tourism industry, the one-day event includes speakers including CNN Travel’s Brekke Fletcher and Euromonitor’s Jocelyn Cheung, and topics range from working with OTAs to using customer data to wellness travel, all with a focus on Sri Lanka.

Graff will be delivering a talk on ‘The Future of Chinese Outbound Tourism and Opportunity in Sri Lanka,” as well as participating in a panel discussion. “I look forward to sharing some insights on Chinese travel patterns and tips on engaging Chinese tourists, in the context of Southeast Asian destinations and island tourism.

Sri Lanka has a reputation for a friendly and culturally rich travel experience, which the Chinese market is bound to appreciate,” he says.

Chinese are the second largest market for tourism in Sri Lanka, behind India. Over 270,000 Chinese tourists visited Sri Lanka in 2016, representing a 26.4 percent year-on-year growth.
